Where are all you budding McEnroes and Agassis?. Don't wait until Wimbledon
fortnight to get out the racquets and trainers, come along now on Tuesday
afternoons 4.00 pm until 6:00 ish or Sunday mornings from 10:00 am til 12:00
pm to practice those forehands, backhands and volleys.
We are a mixed group of players of varying standards, and anyone who wants
to come along and hit a ball is welcome. If there are any ex players out
there who cannot play now, but would like to come along and pass on any
pointers, and feed balls, you are also welcome.
So, come on, get off those sun loungers and be match fit for Wimbledon and
the strawberries and Pyms.
Keep Fit Classes
Run by Bob Packham & Ian Bedford
Classes are run twice a week Monday at 11-30 am and Wednesday at 11am in the Old School House.
People of all ages and ability attend and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
The hour long sessions include Aerobics and exercise with or without the aid of weights, balls or machines.
This is not for the professional sportsman or woman but more for those of us who need a helping hand to keeping fit.
After a session in what we would call our gym you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and relax and meet some maybe new friends.

Walks

We are a group of keen walkers who meet twice a week to explore the countryside.
Some people take dogs along.
On Tuesdays we walk for a couple of hours around the hills, valleys, cliffs and woods of Vale da Telha and the surrounding area.
Afterwards we repair to the Pastelaria do Parque for coffee.
On Fridays we do a three hour walk, often travelling for up to half an hour outside the immeadiate area. About once a month we go further afield – perhaps to Monchique or Burgau and have lunch together afterwards.
Quiz
The Vale da Telha quiz is a pub quiz which is held every Tuesday evening at
the Pastelaria do Parque (the coffee/cake shop by the park under the
apartments, behind the Piranha Bar).
We meet between 8.00p.m. and 8.30p.m. and the quiz starts fairly promptly at
8.30 and lasts for between 11/2 - 2 hours. We all contribute 1.50 euros each
which at the end of the year we decide which charity we will give the money
towards.
There are two people who mostly set the questions ( ranging from
moronically easy to not hard!) and two or three others who do them now and
again.
We are a really friendly bunch, not cliquey at all, and welcomes anyone who
wishes to come and test their brain power or set the questions. Don't worry
about forming a team as any team will be glad to welcome fresh brain power,
although there are no prizes, we nevertheless still like to win.
We have
been going for 6 years now and we are still going strong. Please do come and
join our merry little group we will be very pleased to see you there.
